Matthew is an undergraduate biology student at The College of Charleston who joined the lab in 2022. Previously, he worked as a wildlife technician at the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, working on community-based oyster reef and marsh grass restoration efforts. His research interests include predictive modeling of environmental changes and the effects of human development on the biogeography and community ecology of herpetofauna. Species of interest include the Eastern Coachwhip Snake, salamanders of the Ambystoma genus, and the Spotted Turtle.
